Abstract
The study tested an algorithm for measuring the phase shifts in the phase laser rangefinder systems, allowing to reduce significantly random measurement error caused by influence of flicker noise without automatic calibration. In this case the influence of broadband noise is reduced by averaging multiple samples of values a sine and cosine signal components used to estimate the phase shift that is proportional to the measured distance. The proposed measurement algorithm makes possible the introduction of one of the stages of the instrument in measuring and reference channels of phase measuring device additional phase shift, the value of which depends on the measured distance. Investigators evaluated the random error of measurement distance by numerical simulations. Data obtained in the process of simulation allow to choose the parameters of conversion processes in the phase diagram of the laser range finder, depending on the required speed and accuracy of the distance measurement.
